  • Where is Springsong in the planning process?

Montgomery Parks, which owns the museum site, approved Springsong’s concept plan in the fall of 2024, and is finalizing a long term lease (at a minimum term of 40 years) with the museum. Springsong hired the Baltimore based architecture firm Ziger|Snead and landscape architects Mahan Rykiel and the project is currently in the Design Development phase. The museum has engaged Howard + Revis for exhibit design and interpretation.

Assuming the museum receives all necessary permits and reaches its fundraising goals in 2026, construction is anticipated to begin in early 2027, with an opening date in 2028.
