Springsong Museum is excited to invite you to explore the wonders of winter along the Copperhead Run Trail beside the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River! Join Senior Nature Educator Gina Ghertner for an engaging guided hike as we uncover the hidden life of the forest during this quietly vibrant season.

Though winter may seem still, there’s so much to see — from winter-only visiting birds and the cheerful yellow blossoms of witch hazel, to the first buds forming on trees in preparation for spring. Along the way, we’ll learn about the remarkable strategies plants and animals use to endure the cold and get ready for the warmer days ahead.
