As temperatures warm and days lengthen, the forest section of the Northwest Branch comes alive with seasonal activity and blooms. Join Springsong Museum on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 10:00am–12:00pm for a guided hike along the Copperhead Run Trail in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Led by Senior Nature Educator Gina Ghertner, this naturalist-paced walk explores the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River as the forest reaches peak late-spring vitality. Expect leafy canopies, blooming woodland plants and shrubs, active birdsong, and signs of wildlife along the river corridor as the landscape prepares for summer.
