Springsong Earth Day Celebrations
Springsong Museum was proud to celebrate Earth Day in community this April!
On April 12, we joined the vibrant Takoma Park Earth Day Festival, connecting with neighbors, families, and fellow environmental organizations to share Rachel Carson’s legacy of wonder, stewardship, and curiosity about the natural world. Throughout the day, we met so many inspiring individuals, had thoughtful conversations about local ecology, and invited visitors of all ages to engage more deeply with the landscapes around them.
On April 18 and 19, Springsong Museum celebrated Earth Day with two fellow Montgomery County museums. Hundreds of local community members visited Glenstone Museum for free guided nature hikes and activities, to KID Museum for family-friendly robotics and nature activities, and to the future Springsong Museum site for self-guided observation hikes. We can’t wait for next year!
Events like these remind us that caring for the environment begins with connection—to place, to community, and to each other. We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by, shared their stories, and helped make the day so meaningful.
Here’s to continuing the spirit of Earth Day all year long 🌱
