Springing into Spring!

Spring is always a busy season for Springsong Museum - from Earth Day to Rachel Carson’s birthday, the museum’s staff and volunteers have been busy sharing the words and wisdom of Carson throughout the region.

In March, Founder/Executive Director Rebecca Henson was invited to participate in the DC Environmental Film Festival by joining filmmaker Laura Dunn to discuss her incredible “Look & See” films, which share Wendell Berry’s perennially perceptive words an ideas, giving viewers a peak through his “forty panes, forty clarities.”

We were invited to table at the Takoma Park Earth Day Festival, where we encountered countless individuals, families, and other nonprofit organizations working to raise ecological consciousness in our region.

Throughout the spring, our team also gave presentations to hundreds of local community members on Rachel Carson's life and legacy and the plans for Springsong Museum. Groups included multiple garden clubs, a public middle school, a local American Association of University Women chapter, and three senior living communities.
