On Sunday June 14, 2026, from 9:00am–11:00am, join us for a guided hike along the Copperhead Run Trail in Silver Spring, Maryland, led by Senior Nature Educator Gina Ghertner. This naturalist-paced walk explores the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River at the height of summer. Expect dense, cooling shade beneath towering trees, lush plant growth, buzzing insects, birds in full activity, and signs of wildlife along the river corridor.
Wear sturdy shoes—this scenic loop includes inclines and rocky scrambles near the end—and bring water to stay hydrated in the summer heat.
